Bet On Sports – Baseball - Golf And Wimbledon Tennis This Week
With online Euro 2012 betting ended on Sunday with the final between Italy and Spain, the spotlight will turn to baseball as we hit the dog days of summer, although a little golf will sneak in near the end of the week along with Wimbledon.
Monday
Yankees Rays Odds (7:00 PM ET): New York begins a three-game set in Tampa Bay, where the Rays will go with Matt Moore, while the Yankees counter with Freddy Garcia. If you’re betting online, you should know that Garcia is only in the lineup because of injuries to C.C. Sabathia and Andy Pettite, but Garcia also has solid numbers against the Rays in his career, while Moore is making his first start against New York since striking out 11 Yankees last season.
Tuesday
Marlins Brewers Odds (4:10 PM ET): Milwaukee’s Zack Greinke will be ecstatic to see the mound at Miller Park as he has made his last four starts on the road and seven of his last eight overall; besides that, he is excellent at home and the former Cy Young winner and his team should be the favorites on Tuesday when they host Anibal Sanchez and the visiting Miami Marlins.
Wednesday
Phillies Mets Odds (1:10 PM ET): If you bet on sports, you’ll get an early start to the day as July 4th will hold plenty of fireworks, and one of the marquee matinees comes from the Big Apple, where Chris Young and the Mets host Philadelphia and Kyle Kendrick, who has been forced to raise his game due to injuries and all-around ineffectiveness. The Phillies are still in the National League East race as we approach the All-Star break, but they’ll need a huge second half.
Thursday
Greenbrier Classic Odds (tee times TBA): After Tiger Woods’ AT&T National this week, the PGA Tour heads to West Virginia for the Greenbrier Classic, and you should still find a solid field at legal online sports betting sites despite its placement in the schedule. Scott Stallings won in a playoff last season, while Stuart Appleby’s 59 was the highlight of the inaugural tournament in 2010, so don’t be afraid of some gold betting this weekend.
Friday
Wimbledon Odds (times TBA): The third and perhaps most prestigious Grand Slam continues on Friday and we should be moving into the final stages of the tournament, which ends on Sunday. Wimbledon is unique this year in that you can get a read on the Olympics in London as the tennis events will be held on the grass surfaces of the All England Club, so you should watch Wimbledon this weekend if you want to get a headstart on your Olympic tennis picks in your sportsbook (which you can find here).
